how to grow cofee beans?
I’ve picked a few coffee cherries (beans) last week in guatemala off a tree. I want to grow them but not sure exactly how to go about it. I’ve looked on the web, and didn’t get that part abotu pulping and then letting it rest in a box. Can someone help?
First you lay them out on a piece of newspaper until they’re dry. They you score the outside of the beans with a knife (just ruff up the outside a bit). Then you put them on a wet paper towel and cover them with another wet paper towel. You keep them wet and warm until they sprout (about 2 to 3 weeks). Once they sprout you can plant them in moist potting soil and put them in a light but not bright location. Once they start growing they need a lot of water – like every day. They’re a beautiful plant.
