Everyone loves chocolate, but where does it come? In fact for thousands of years in one form or another and has an interesting history behind its evolution to the modern chocolate bar we all know and love today.
The first evidence of chocolate is in South America, where the ancient Mayas, cocoa beans crop that is harvested and used in drinks. These drinks were very bitter and foamy and had probably been used in various ceremonies. Later, the Aztecs for the use of cocoa bean, or even used as a form of currency.
Cocoa beans were introduced in 16th century Europe when the Spanish arrived to America and discovered that chocolate of the Aztecs. Chocolate mushroomed across Europe, and demand for cocoa beans has increased at a rapid pace. Finally, the demand for chocolate in Europe is now so high that the Spanish enslaved the Meso-Americans to grow and harvest cocoa beans in bulk quantities.
The first chocolate factory was established in London in mid – 1600, which resulted in greater accessibility and popularity of chocolate in England. Converted into a chocolate drink chocolate milk when Hans Sloane, an Irish physician, who has created for medical purposes. Over 200 years later, the brothers bought the formula and Cadbury promoted the evolution of chocolate. Chocolate has been further refined and became softer and stronger so it can be transformed into a bar-shaped. With the advent of the industrial revolution, the chocolate began to be produced in mass quantities. And the rest, as they say, is history!
