Use of investors to screw top wine bottles?
For years I used the Vacu Vin wine protectors (before you ask, I take a drink or two at home a few days and my husband prefers beer). But now, most of the wine you buy has a lid screwed. For many reasons, I prefer, because it is much less likely to "flip" of the wine. However, the Vacu-vin is not working properly on them as the openings are a little broader. Is there a wine investor suitable for screw caps? Gracias mil.
With the Vacu-vin, trying to do is suck all the air from the bottle as possible to minimize the contact oxygen with the wine. It makes your wine is oxidation. Another popular way to eliminate the use of oxygen is one of the widely available inert gas spray sold in stores wine. The can comes with an adapter that thin tube inside the bottle above the liquid level. Spray a little gas in the bottle. The gas is heavier than air in the room and oxygen moves out of wine, which prevents oxygenation. Does not react with the wine and does not affect the taste or smell. You can then put the original lid of the bottle to prevent evaporation. A popular brand is called "private reserve" and sells for about $ 15 a can. Cheers!
